Dr Nooren Moti
MBBCh FC DERM (SA)
Illovo (Sandton)
Shortly after qualifying as a medical doctor, Dr Nooren Moti started her dermatology registrar under the expert guidance of her mentor, Professor Joy Schulz. It was here that she undertook intensive dermatology training by being exposed to a wide variety of skin ailments.
This experience was fundamental in equipping her with the expertise to diagnose and treat even the most obscure skin complaints. She proved to be an avid registrar; winning the best clinical presentation at the South African Dermatology Congress in 2007 and the following year, being awarded the best clinical presentation by the Dermatology Dowling Club in the United Kingdom.
Coming from a whole family of doctors, medicine was a natural career choice for Dr Moti. Early on in her studies, she felt drawn to the study of skin – she believes that it is this organ that reflects our inner state of health. In addition to her interest and passion for the discipline, she decided to specialise in dermatology as a way to facilitate the early diagnosis of underlying medical conditions which often start to show on the skin.
[read more=”Click here to Read More” less=”Read Less”]This insight is echoed in her guiding mantra – “The eyes may be the windows to the soul, but the skin is the window to within.” Dr Moti is passionate about all aspects of dermatology, from general skin conditions, to sun protection skin care and aesthetic medicine. She brings a comprehensive Dermatological Consultancy to the Laserderm Dunkeld branch as well as the exclusive procedure of Mole-Mapping.
Dr Moti feels a strong responsibility to work towards the wellbeing of communities less fortunate than herself. She demonstrates her inclination towards goodwill by involving herself in any organisation that raises funds and goods for various charities.
This is why she found it exceptionally important to join Laserderm: so that she could be involved in a complete treatment programme for her clients. Often after treating a skin condition one is left with residual complaints and this is where aesthetic practice begins – just a little to enhance your beauty. Being based at a centre that offers diagnosis, treatment and healing of skin ailments – all under one roof – enables Dr Moti to experience a sense of closure and accomplishment in that her clients leave the Laserderm centre feeling satisfied with their results.[/read]

He still spends time in theatre by doing tonsillectomies, vasectomies and various minor procedures like circumcisions etc.
The aesthetic aspect of his practice started in 2004 during which time he was trained in injectable neuro toxins and non-permanent dermal filler injection techniques. He joined Laserderm in 2012 and is now pursuing aesthetic medicine with passion.
“One should never accept status quo. Constant progression and evolvement is my motto in life and not getting stuck in a comfort zone are one of my main goals.
[read more=”Click here to Read More” less=”Read Less”]It is in this regard that aesthetic medicine presents me with both a challenge and an opportunity to live my passion and life philosophy. The ageing process, metabolism (obesity, diabetes) and general health are all part of one continuum in our bodies and you can’t treat the one without managing the other.
Nature has given us beauty and the human body and face are two perfect examples thereof. To any prospective patient, I would like to say that we should not try to foil the ageing process, but we should merely try to age beautifully and of course maintain our good health during this process. This is my challenge and I see aesthetic medicine as the perfect platform to pursue this.
After all – La vie est belle. “ [/read]
